"Published on Thursday 13 January 2005 11:02 AN ANONYMOUS letter of apology and 700 was sent to a Dales school following a burglary at the premises over the Christmas period. The letter, which listed items of clothing stolen from the school shop, arrived at St Elphin's School, in Darley Dale, on Monday. A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: "There was a burglary at St Elphin's over the Christmas break where some clothes were stolen. "On Monday, an anonymous letter was received containing 700, apologising for the burglary and listing all the things stolen."
