Service for the chapel.....

PARENTS and pupils gathered at St Elphins School in Darley Dale on Tuesday to observe a rededication service at the school's chapel.

Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to the building in July when vandals daubed its walls, floors and furniture with paint, as well as causing extensive damage to the altar, organ and windows.

Chaplain Rev Williams took Tuesday's service, and included on view were banners made by pupils from the school which now hang on the chapel's walls.

Principal Dr Deborah Mouat said: "There was real joy in the school community at being back in a Chapel which is at its heart, and which now feels more welcoming than ever."
