"Published on Thursday 27 February 2003 09:40 PLANS to build a house on the grounds of St Elphins School have been given the thumbs down by Darley Dale town councillors. The proposed development was for the land south-east of St Elphins Cottage on Blind Lane. In recommending refusal councillors said it would intensify traffic and it was against the Local Plan. At a meeting last Thursday, Cllr Terry Kilburn said: "The problem is the access, there is nowhere to put a car."
