"Published on Tuesday 21 December 2004 15:09 A PLANNING inspector has concluded that Derbyshire Dales District Council was correct to refuse planning permission for houses in the grounds of a school. Inspector David Smith upheld the council's decision to turn down the proposed scheme at St Elphin's School, in Darley Dale. He agreed that the houses would harm the character and appearance of the area, increase the over-supply of housing and fail to contribute to the provision of affordable housing."
