One area which seems to be lacking in the magazines is information on the teaching staff, i.e. what teachers there were, the subjects they taught, the years they were at St Elphin's – let alone what they are doing now and/or, indeed, whether they are still alive. I am in the process of trying to rectify this – after all, the teaching staff are part of the school's history.

1978 Staff List
We learnt of the passing of Miss(Isobel) Stevenson (former Acting Head) in January 2022. After leaving St Elphin's School she went on to become Head Mistress at Jersey College for Girls. In June 2022 the Librarian and Archivist from Jersey College got in touch with me as she had come across a few documents relating to St Elphin's which she duly sent on to me.

Amongst the items was a list of staff in 1978. I can recall 17 of them being there during my time at St Elphin’s 1967 – 1973). However it’s also sad to see that, to my knowledge, at least 9 are no longer with us as at September 2022. Please click here to enlarge image.

1979 Time Table
Also amongst the documents was a Time Table for Miss Stevenson for the Summer 1979 term. It's interesting to note the varied duties she had.
